Wind: Variable 1-2
Visibility: Good
Sea state: Slight
Time of launch: 1715hrs
Time of return: 1900hrs

Boats launched: ALB

Reason: Amble ALB was asked to launch to take over the tow from the Tynemouth Lifeboat of the local fishing vessel “Rejoyce”.  The fishing vessel had suffered and engine room fire which the crew had managed to extinguish, but she had been left without power.  Amble ALB met the Tynemouth Lifeboat at a position 7.5 miles South East of Amble and took over the tow of the Rejoyce back to Amble.  Once back in port, the Lifeboat was met by the local fire brigade who boarded the fishing vessel to ensure there was no further risk of fire
