Boats launched: ALB

Reason: Humber Coastguard requested the immediate launch of Amble Lifeboat after the angling vessel ‘Solitaire’ reported having suffered an electrical failure which left them without any power. The vessel with 9 persons on board was now drifting 0.5 miles south of Hadston Carr rocks. Amble Lifeboat was able to attach a tow once on scene and tow the casualty vessel back to Amble Marina.

Time of return: 1100hrs

Boats launched: ALB

Reason: Amble ALB was launched after the 18ft pleasure boat ‘Lady Linda’ reported she had a fouled propeller and was drifting approximately 1 mile South of Amble. Once on scene Amble Lifeboat took the casualty under tow and towed it back to Amble Marina.

Boats launched: ILB

Reason: Amble ILB was requested to launch after Humber Coastguard received several 99 calls from members of the public concerned for the safety of a small sailing dinghy which had capsized just North of Amble. Once on scene it was found to be from a local sailing club and one of their rescue craft had the vessel under tow. As all was safe and well, the ILB returned to station.
