Time of return: 2030hrs

Boats launched: ALB

Reason: Amble ALB was requested to launch after the 24ft pleasure craft ‘Apache’ reported an electrical fault causing lost of smoke in the engine compartment. The vessel was 2.75 miles South East of Coquet Island and had 2 persons on board. Once on scene the Lifeboat transferred a crewman to the casualty vessel to ensure everything was safe before rigging a tow and towing the vessel back to Amble Marina.

Boats launched: ILB

Reason: Amble ILB was requested to launch to assist the local wildlife wardens with a Porpoise that had washed up on Warkworth beach. The crew were able to assist the wardens with re-floating the animal before returning to station

Time of return: 0700hrs

Boats launched: ALB and ILB

Reason: Both Amble Lifeboats were launched after the 30ft yacht ‘Mencilla’ reported running aground at the entrance to the river at Alnmouth. With the tide flowing Amble ILB transferred the tow rope from Amble ALB to the casualty vessel and she was towed back to Amble to be inspected for damage.
