Reason: Amble RNLI All-Weather Lifeboat was called out after the 10m fishing vessel ‘Annabel’, reported she had suffered machinery failure approximately 14 miles East of Amble harbour. Under the command of Coxswain John Connell, the Lifeboat made best speed to the casualty and was alongside the casualty by 2040hrs. Two Lifeboat crew were put on board the vessel to assist the skipper who was fishing on his own, and a tow was established back to Amble. Arriving back at Amble just after 2230hrs, the fishing vessel was taken in an along-side tow by the Lifeboat and placed on her berth in Amble Marina. The Lifeboat then returned to station where she was re-fuelled, washed down and made ready for service.
