Reason: Amble RNLI All-Weather Lifeboat was called out after the 28ft yacht ‘Cherry B’, with 2 persons on board, reported machinery failure, 1/2 mile off shore between Birling Carrs and Alnmouth. With no wind to sail the yacht, the Lifeboat was tasked to tow the vessel back to Amble Marina where she was put onto one of the Marina pontoons, before the Lifeboat returned to station where she was made ready for service.

Reason: Amble RNLI All-Weather Lifeboat was called out after the fishing vessel ‘Elizabeth Jade’, with 2 persons on board, reported she had suffered machinery failure in the Druridge Bay area to the South of Amble. Once the ALB had loacted the casualty, a tow was established to get the vessel back to Amble, but with a brisk wind and choppy seas at times the ALB could only tow the casualty vessel at between 4 and 6 knots. Arriving back in Amble just before 4pm, the vessel was tied up alongside the fish quay with the help of the local Coastguard Unit and the ALB returned to station where she was refulled and made ready for service once more.
