Date: Wednesday 8th July 2009

Wind: NW 4-5
Visibility: Good
Sea state: Moderate
Time of launch: (crew stood down before launching)
Time of return:

Boats launched: ILB

Reason: At the request of the Coxswain of Amble Lifeboat, Humber Coastguard paged the crew of Amble ILB to escort a local fishing vessel through the heavy breaking swell at the entrance to Amble Harbour. Just as the ILB crew were assembling at the boathouse, the fishing vessel spotted a lull in the waves and was able to enter relatively safely. The ILB launch was then cancelled and the crew were stood down.

Sea state: Calm
Time of launch: 1740hrs

Reason: Humber Coastguard requested the immediate launch of both Amble Lifeboat and Amble ILB after they received reports concerning the welfare of a lady missing in the Alnmouth area.
