Reason for lauch: Amble Lifeboat was requested to launch to the assistance of the Banff registered fishing vessel ‘REPLENISH’, who had reported suffering a fire on board 28 miles North East of Amble Harbour.

The crew of 6 on board the 300ton vessel had successfully extinguished the fire but were requesting an escort by Lifeboat to the River Tyne in case the fire reignited.

Amble Lifeboat met ‘REPLENISH’ 22 miles South South East of the Coquet Estuary and started to escorts the vessel South. When about 8 miles from the Tyne, the Tynemouth Lifeboat was launched to take over the escort for the last leg of the journey, allowing Amble Lifeboat to return back to station.
